OCTOBER 4 — Central Broward Regional Park

Leading up to the 2015 Miami Broward Carnival (Oct. 11), Miami Broward Junior Carnival invites South Florida’s young Caribbean-Americans to embrace and celebrate their Caribbean culture. Over 350 young children will participate in the Junior Carnival parade and competition at Central Broward Park (3700 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill, FL 33311). Young masqueraders will be judged based on their creativity, presentation, originality and craftsmanship of their masquerade costumes.

“We are looking forward to a safe and successful Junior Carnival this year as we continue to promote and sustain the culture of the Caribbean people,” says Rose Kelly, Bandleader of Heritage TnT, Jr. Carnival band. “The youths are the future of our Carnival, so we hope to bring more awareness of our culture to them.”

The festival will feature performances by The Juggernaut Band and Lauderhill Encore Performing Arts Center and the 2014 Steelband Panorama winners Pantastik and 2013 winner Silver Stars. Miami Broward Junior Carnival takes place from 1-8PM. Parade begins at 2 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and free for kids under 10.
