Known for his larger than life and visually intense still life paintings of plants and food, Portland based artist Eric Wert, makes every day foods — such as peppers, citrus, tomatoes, figs — look mouth-wateringly appetizing through use of his hyper-realistic style.
“I want to create an image that one can be lost within. To me, still-life painting is about looking intensely. It’s about intimately exploring a subject,” he says.

Breathtaking! And to think it’s just ordinary everyday food. 🙂
